Hub Adapters
Why doesn’t my wireless internet adapter work on my laptop when it’s plugged into a port hub?

My laptop (Latitude CPX-J) only has one usb port. In order for me to access the internet from it, I must use a usb adapter, and it always works fine.

BUT

It doesn’t work, or even detect it when it’s plugged into any of the ports on my 4-port usb hub.

Your USB wireless internet adapter needs power, which it gets from the USB port. But when you plug in the port splitter it too needs power, so it dose not pass the power through to the internet adapter. You will need to get a Powered USB hub to do what you want.

Hope this helps you…

Electronics World
Has anyone ever herd of World College or the Cleveland Institute of Electronics?

Im thinking about taking some classes for a bachlors degree threw them. Thing is there telling me it will only cost me 3,540 per year. I thought it would cost more than that. Everyone tells me if it sounds to good to be true than it is. Ok well im not sure if this is to good to be true because this is my first time.
Can you help me?

I am currently a student in broadcast engineering. The cost is really low but you get what you pay for. You will receive numerous bound lessons ranging from fifty to 90 pages each with quizzes at the and of each and the answers are sent in electronically. Instructor support is a joke!!
You are basically on your own and it is often helpful to purchase textbooks to supplement your learning. Some of the quizzes (passing is required) are difficult and the answers are not found in the text.
Nevertheless, they are accredited and I am continuing as a student since I have learned a great deal. There would be a lot more learning if a classroom were available but that is impossible for me. Many of their lessons are also quite dates. For example, the video cameras they discuss are of the camera tube (plumbicon ) type whereas nearly everything is CCD and solid state these days.
I visited their headquarters in Cleveland and it is in a decrepit old building with few employees. Nevertheless, they do grade the quizzes quickly so you can continue on with the courses.
Their major competitor is ITT although ITT does not have the electronics courses.

Do MacBook Pro speakers become weaker when we crank the volume up really loud?

Hi. I just got a MacBook Pro and I really love its speakers and I wanna take care of them as well as I can. But I also like cranking up the volume when i’m watching movies on it. My brother says that the speakers get worse when you turn up the volume really loud. Is this true?

That’s true of every speaker in the world.

I’m looking at getting some Behringer Truth B2031A studio monitors, will i need to buy an audio interface?

I’m looking at getting some Behringer Truth B2031A studio monitors, for general listening to music purposes and for making a song or two occasionally. I plan to plug the speakers straight into my computer, will i need to buy an audio interface?

You can plug them straight from your computer – you will need a 3.5mm to 1/4 inch cable:

You can also use a standard 3.5mm to RCA cable with two RCA to 1/4 inch adapters:
