get a cd changer with a fm modulator because it will be cheaper in the long run. If i remember the car correctly it will be expensive, the all of your wires will have to be run to the trunk for and in dash cd player take it to your local installers shop, they should be able to give you and estimate

Assuming you have a PC with a sound-card, and access to a tape player… you need NO additional hardware – the USB devices are just expensive kit for people who don’t realise that their PC is perfectly capable of converting analogue audio to digital anyway…
The USB devices mostly use soundforge Audacity software, which is FREE!!! – and connecting directly to the LINE IN of your sound-card works just the same as connecting via USB…

Does the steering wheel remote radio control for eclipse head unit really works?
I have the Eclipse AVN 50D Navigation and DVD unit installed and my car has the factory remote control on the steering wheel. I’ve seen this device on Ebay and wondering if any of you have purchased one and if so, how has it worked out for you?
If you check eclipses ei-serv portion of their web site, you will see that it works only with toyota and lexus, I think there might be another manufacturer too… I dont remember. From what i hear, they dropped it a couple years ago, because of integration with SO many different styles of both steering funtions and BUS functions from newer vehicles, and the fact that for a hundred and fifty bucks the customer can purchase a new steering wheel interface unit for their vehicle.

Playing a record player/turntable thru a stereo system?
I have a Sony LBT-ZT4 stereo through which I’d like to play a record player/turntable. I’m wondering what I’d need to look for in a record player/turntable in order for this to work. The inputs on the stereo are a mini-stereo and a 1/4″ stereo that is amplified (i.e. I can play my guitar through it). So would I be able to play a turntable without a preamp through the amplified input? Or would I need a turntable with a preamp, even though the input is amplified? I really don’t wanna buy a receiver or any other components. I don’t know that much about stereo equipment and all that stuff, and I know almost nothing about turntables except that I like how they sound… Also, I’d love some suggestions about nice, sub-$100 turntables (new or used) and any personal experience people have with connecting record players to stereo sets. Phonograph records are recorded with what is called an RIAA curve, this is done so the bass does not distort and the treble sounds clean and because of the limitations of vinyl as a recording media you need a phonograph pre-amp that will re-equalize the curve for a flat out put, otherwise it will sound tinny with very little bass and an exaggerated treble…some record players have this built in others do not…you can purchase an external phono pre-amp at radio shack or other electronic stores…
