What is the advantage of using a current and voltage regulated power supply? ?
We are planning to construct a voltage regulated power supply as our project but our teacher told us that it would be better to construct a current and voltage regulated power supply instead. We are just wondering what difference can a current regulated power supply do.
Your teacher has the right idea. If you are going to make an effort, you should try to get the maximum return for that effort.
Current and Voltage regulated sources are the mainstay of industry. They allow the maximum flexibility. The programmable variety allow the testing of all integrated circuits in all the IC factorys. Even more to the point, if you intend your power supply to survive, you will have to provide the maximum protection for it. This usually means building in current limiting circuits anyway. There is almost no difference between a current limiter and a Current Regulated Supply.
What is the dispute between Ace of Base members Jonas Berggren and his sister Jenny Berggren?
Many websites appear to be reporting that they aren’t speaking, and that Jenny has left the band. What was the dispute about?
They fought over the name “Ace of Base”:
Now Berggren siblings fighting for the rights to the band name … In September or October release Jonas Berggren, 43 , and Ulf Ekberg, 39 , a new album together . And the guys are considering to use their old world-famous band name … But the name of the use is not supported by Ace Of Base one original singer, who is also Jonas Berggren’s sister, Jenny Berggren, 38 , who in the autumn releases her first solo album … “Ace Of Base , we are four original members , it is on paper,” she said in May.
How hard is it for army officer candidates get Signal Corps as their branch?
I know that officer candidates won’t know their branch until they complete OCS training, but I’m curious how hard it is to get Signal Corps if its your first choice branch.
First, it is all dominated by the needs of the Army. More with OCS than USMA or ROTC.
That said, Accessions Command still wants to make you happy — a happy 2d Lieutenent will stay in to make Captain and if they get you to 11 years you will stay in for 20.
So they do want to get you somewhere you want. ‘Branch Satisfaction’ is considered to be getting one of your first 3 choices.
How can you influence getting Signal? #1 rank high in your class. If you have signal as your first choice then signal will get your file first. Make them WANT you and they take you. Ask to see the what goes into your file, but you can guess the basics — class rank; APFT; testing scores; comments from your TAC officers; etc… Signal is a very technical field so they may be concerned about your college or demonstrated academic aptitude (lots of math doing frequency management and such) and ability to learn complex technical / mechanical concepts (did I mention aptitude testing scores?)
Good luck. Signal is a big branch, so that is in your favor.
