Fender Deluxe Player vs MIM Standard?
Hello, I am trying to decide between a MIM Standard Strat, or a Deluxe Player Strat. Is there much difference between the two? I understand the pickups are American Made on the DLX, but is it that much better. I play mostly blues, and a little rock. Also, do you think either of these guitars would play well on a Hot Rod Deluxe? If anyone would like to tell me about their experience with either, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
If you are going to change out the pickups, or customize it in any other way just get the MIM, If you want the upgraded pickups and wiring’s go for the deluxe. Personally I saved up the extra money and got an American Strat, it has great pickups, 22 frets, and will hold it’s resale values much better.
A Strat through a Hot Rod Deluxe is a great, and classic setup.
Go and play them, and any other strat you can find in your price range, through a Hot Rod Deluxe, put them through the paces, and see which you prefer, one guitar will probably stand out above the others. If there is one near you try Guitar Center, they are very good about letting people play through their rigs, and should stock every guitar and amp you might be interested in. Lots of other music shops will let you test their gear as well.

Why is Rock and Pop almost always put together, it seriously angers me! i know all pop isnt this way but when i think of it, i think of Brittney Spears ect. how can you put that type of music together with AC/DC or even alt bands like Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers? seriously…..
Yes i know pop means popular but rap is also popular, so why isnt that in the same category?
Because it would mean more work for the Yahoo administrators. Because separating Rock and Pop would be SOOO labour-intensive and costly…..
I don’t know why they won’t get off their fat computer nerd asses and do it, this question has been raised more than any other except dumb Jonas Brothers questions and still the monkeys at Y! HQ ignore us. I think rock and pop are at either end of the spectrum and should never be lumped in together within the same breath. It’s stupid and I have no answer for it, just that it’s messed up and needs to be changed sooner rather than later. Ridiculous.
