Ok, so I have a 2005 Camry with the stock stereo and all. I would like a better sounding system, mainly the sub woofers, because i like rap. I need to know the perfect size so that my stereo doesn’t blow out, or that it doesn’t rattle too much. My friend has the same car and a 10″ in a tube and it sounds pretty nice, but i would like to know what size would sound the best, and if possible, any specific subs. And i have about $200 to spend.
I wouldn’t hook up a sub to a stereo alone. You need an amp and subs or you could just get a girlly bazooka. If you don’t want it too loud then turn it down (duh). When you have a system that won’t be too loud the size doesn’t matter. Here is a list for some subs I would get kicker or pioneer for quality.
I have a Marshall AVT50 Combo amp. Due to construction on my house it is stored in an unheated garage. Will cold temperatures damage the preamp vacuum tube?
Vacuum tubes are pretty resistant to different storage conditions. Some people even cryogenically treat (freeze) them. The preamp tubes are very inexpensive anyway… Frequent temperature changes can cause condensation moisture and corrosion on electronics though. It would be far better to store the amp in a temperature controlled environment.
What effect would ceramic paints have on glass surface.?
i want to paint my glass condiments jars but i have only ceramic paints. is it safe?will i need the black outliner tube?i hav camel colours.
They will come off. You will need to get glass paints. They are sold in your local craft store. The name of the most popular brand is GLOSSIES. They come in tiny bottles and are about three dollars and change each. Once applied to a clean surface, you will need to put the item in the oven and heat the painted surface at something like 250 degrees for 20 minutes or so (read directions on bottle). After that, they are very durable. Though, the black chips a bit and is not as durable as every other color. (ps….you can mix these paints too, to make your own hues if you like)

Define output specification on a transformer 16V 10VA? Is the output AC or DC and how many watts?
How do you test this transformer with a multi-test meter? It was in a gong style door bell system. The ‘clanger’ unit has two windings withe the striker arm parallel to the end of the windings.
Elaborate please. parts are difficult at my location.
Transformers output AC by nature – only those special black plastic ‘wall wart’ things sometimes output DC as they have rectifier in them. But a transformer out of a doorbell is just a lot of wire wound on a metal core and outputs AC. The 10VA means volt-amps – which as the other guy already said is watts. 10 watts is a really small transformer. It will not hurt your doorbell if the new transformer is rated at more than 10 watts – it just has to be the right voltage. You set your meter to AC volts and measure across the secondary winding – the output – the wires that go to the doorbell circuit – should be 16V AC.
